Meyer Chess packing house

On the corner of san Fernando Road and Van Nuys Blvd. , my Great Grandfather Alexander Romero, my Grandmother, Belle Martinez and my Aunt, work for Mr. Chess at his Packing House packing oranges. Mr. Chess lived in Beverly Hills and had a chauffeur drive him to work. I remember as a child, passing it to visit our family that lived on the north side of the tracks. I don't remember when it was torn down, but it was the place that supported my Mothers family for years. I don't know what happened to Mr. Chess or his family. Also on San Fernando Mission Blvd., near Sepulveda Blvd. the Sunkist lemon company had a business there. I remember going to Bob's Big Boy on Sepulveda Blvd. with my friends in high school and smelling the lemons while we ate in the drive in part of the restaurant. This is a great site, thanks for the memories.Marsha Prieto
