"Los Angeles is surrounded by valleys, but there's only one Valley..."
Hush Money, by Peter Israel
A reader asks:

And a reader answers. Steve Shaw emails that it was at 11915 Ventura Boulevard (which for about two decades now has been the site of the Wine Bistro) in Studio City. He found a 1965 clipping that calls it a steakhouse operated by Harley Cole.
If there's interest I may do a page on certain locales and what they have been through the years. Most notable (to me) on the boulevard are 11345 Ventura, formerly Bob Eubanks' Cinnamon Cinder underage nightclub, where the Beatles held their pre-concert press conference before going onstage at the Hollywood Bowl in 1964; and 13359 Ventura, which was Rondelli's in 1959 when Jack "The Enforcer" Whalen was executed there as Mickey Cohen and other mobsters looked on. The old Cinnamon Cinder (which also has been the Magic Mushroom, and previously was the site of the Grace Hayes Motor Lodge) is now a club called Platinum Live. The address of Rondelli's in Sherman Oaks is now occupied by La Fondue Bourguignonne.
The Iron Horse has been added to Gone But Not Forgotten, along with the Valley Ice Skating Center, Iceoplex, Dark Canyon and Pickwick Airways. Entries on the Valley Garden Arena and the Valley Music Theater have also been updated.
